How to unlock Ballista
You need Barracks level 9 in the training city. Complete the following research as well:

| Resource | Amount |
|---|---|
| Food | 2,500 |
| Lumber | 3,000 |
| Iron | 2,500 |
Using Ballistas in your army
Ballistae have 1,400 base range, exceeding Archers’ 1,200. Their high lumber and iron costs, training requirements, and 50 food upkeep make them a planned investment. The game rules identify them as a camp-farming option.
They move at only 100 base speed. A slow siege force is exposed for longer on the march, and a successful attack still needs enough carrying capacity to bring loot home.
Before you march
- Scout the target and review the available report.
- Check your hero, troop mix, and current research.
- Keep enough food for the march and enough carrying capacity for the return.
- Review scouting and combat planning before choosing a force.
