A strong city connects population, production, research, defense, and military capacity. Select a structure for its costs and requirements.

Town Hall
The seat of the castle. No other building or field can pass its level. Each level holds one more resource tile and opens two more field plots.

Cottage
Houses 100 people at level 1, rising to 5,500 at level 10. Every person pays tax in gold.

Barracks
Trains every troop type. Its level unlocks units, along with research. Each barracks level past the first trains 10% faster.

Academy
Researches studies for your whole realm. Your highest Academy caps every study.

Warehouse
Protects part of each resource from plunder. There is no storage limit.

City Wall
Runs around the city. Attackers must break it to win: 100,000 hit points at level 1, up to 5.5 million at level 10. Engineering adds 10% per level. Needs a Workshop.

Rally Point
Sends armies out. Each level adds one march slot and 10,000 troops per march. Troops on guard use a slot.

Lodge
Heroes stop here looking for work. Each level brings one more candidate, and better ones. New faces every hour.

Feasting Hall
Houses your heroes, one per level. Seat a hero here as governor to boost this castle.

Workshop
Needed for the City Wall and for Metal Casting, which unlocks Transporters and siege engines. Metal Casting can’t pass the Workshop’s level.

Market
Trades with every lord on the server. Each level lets this castle keep one more listing up at a time.

Embassy
Needed to found or join an alliance. Each level lets one more allied army guard this castle, up to 10.
Beacon Tower
Warns you of armies marching on this castle and its tiles. Level 1 raises the alarm; each level after that reveals more about the attackers.
Infirmary
15% of your troops killed in any battle come back here wounded instead of dying, always the same share. Each level holds 10,000 wounded and heals faster. Healing costs a fifth of the training price.

Relief Station
Speeds marches sent between your own cities and allied cities. The sending city controls the bonus.

Stable
Needed for Horseback Riding, which unlocks Cavalry and Cataphracts. Horseback Riding can’t pass the Stable’s level. Needs a level 5 Farm.

Forge
Needed for Military Science, and at level 2 for the Workshop. Military Science can’t pass the Forge’s level. Needs a level 3 Iron Mine.

Farm
Grows food. Every soldier eats each hour, and twice as much on the march.

Sawmill
Cuts lumber for buildings, bows and wagons.

Quarry
Cuts stone for halls, walls and catapult shot.

Iron Mine
Digs iron for weapons and armor.
