The right leader for the task

Recruit heroes through the Lodge. The Feasting Hall houses one hero per level and lets you appoint a governor. Your hero’s attributes affect city development and armies in different ways.

The three hero attributes

AttributeAs governorIn battle / on a march
StrengthImproves troop training speedAdds attack and defense
IntelligenceShortens research timeAdds troop health
CharismaImproves production and building speedImproves carrying capacity and medal chances

Recruitment and upkeep

The Lodge refreshes its candidates hourly. Higher levels add candidates and improve the selection. The listed hiring cost is 1,000 gold per hero level; salary is 20 gold per level per hour. Include salaries in your city’s budget.

Governors and specialist roles

A governor supports one castle. Match the hero’s strongest attribute to the work you need: Charisma for development, Intelligence for research, and Strength for training. Review your next queue before changing appointments.

Experience and permanent equipment

Heroes gain experience through battle and training. Campaign Journals and War Chronicles add experience. Kingsblade provides a permanent 25% Strength boost to one hero, with one blade per hero. Temporary codex effects support other attributes.
